Konsum orientierte Jugendkultur von heute wird in den Bildgeschichten vom Künstlerpaar Muntean/Rosenblum thematisiert. Jugendliche mit ihren populären Statussymbolen treten in bühnenartigen Tableaus auf, wie auch in diesem Werk auf einem Baseballplatz. In den monumentalen, an Plakatmalerei erinnernden Bildern wirken die Teenager oft verloren, auf sich bezogen. Die unbeholfenen Haltungen und Gesten der Jugendlichen stehen im Gegensatz zum coolen, selbstbewussten Auftritt im Zeitgeist-Outfit. Dieses erzählerische Moment der Malerei wird noch unterstützt von Texten, die vom Künstlerpaar entweder als Unterschrift oder als Sprechblasen zur Malerei hinzugefügt werden. In der Verbindung von Sprache und Bild wird ein kulturelles Bewusstsein der Jugendlichen offenbar, das von Ratlosigkeit und Verliebtheit, Unendlichkeitssehnsucht, Verzückung und Verzweiflung geprägt wird. Diese Thematik behandeln Muntean/Rosenblum in Rauminstallationen, Büchern und großformatiger Malerei.

In their picture stories, the Muntean/Rosenblum artist team explore today's consumption-oriented youth culture. Young people and their popular status symbols are portrayed in stage-like tableaux, in this case a basket ball court. In the monumental, poster-like pictures, the teenagers often seem lost and self-absorbed. Their gawky postures and gestures are in sharp contrast to the cool, assertive appearance of their "zeitgeisty" outfits. The narrative element in the paintings is supported by texts which the artists add to the paintings as captions or speech bubbles. The combination of language and image reveals that the young people have a cultural awareness characterised by bewilderment and infatuations, a yearning for the eternal, bliss and despair. Muntean/Rosenblum explore these themes in installations, books and large-format paintings.
